Frederick Langley was my great uncle. It's nice to see a street
named after him for his contribution in WW2. Thank You.

I suffered from trench foot during training in Gagetown N.B. in 1981. It is very painful and debilitating.

Outstanding compilation!! I’ve begun driving a cab here in Oshawa, and been here in the GTA less than a decade; hence most names of our streets are foreign to me, as well as to 99% of people I ask, in and out of the cab. How people live on these streets, for years and never know the sacred significance there names, well…. that’s another story! Can you please provide me with other links for the historical origins to other street names here in Oshawa? I’ve been grinding away for a few weeks and found (what I call) “University Row”, “The Berry Patch” & “A Piece of Florida” ect. Perhaps we can collaborate?
In closing I applaud your endeavors to further honor our heroes who’ve paid the ultimate price, so we can live as free men, with liberty and justice for all!

I just found this website; it's really interesting. I have been to Belgium a few times to see the monuments and museums there but I've never been aware of the important role that horses played.
Last March I wrote an article in a student newspaper in Ireland about the often forgetten contribution of the Irish to the Great War. It's available on my personal blog.

I am a 35 year Army Veteran who served in Europe, Middle East and South East Asia from the 1960s onward. I am interested in this pogram as it is new to me and I have been the service officer at Branch 637 for 10 years as well I did belong to the Legions "living Historys" speakers group". My interest is to make contact to obtain more information about the program as I think it is a great idea. Secondly, possibly i could be of assistance or maybe add a contribution who can tell? I tried the phone number for Mr McKnight on page one of the site but it was incorrect so I decided to leave a message. I live in Oshawa and I hope someone will respond to my query. home phone 905-725-2411
